The interior of the HydraCook steam oven from MieleAncestral practice inherited from Asia, the virtues of sweet steam cooking are very well known: the preservation of flavours, colours, textures, and nutritional benefits. As a true expert in steam, Miele presented us its new 5000 built-ins collection at the start of the summer 2008 which includes, among others, fabulous steam ovens that offer the best of technology and enables us to concoct healthy cuisine very easily.

These ovens are offered in installable or built-in models, with low or high pressure steam, in multiple dimensions and colours and even with a combined steam oven. Miele has made sure to offer a large range of products so that there’s something in it for everyone.

Steam cooking is healthy, you already know that. But with Miele, it is made easy and you have fun while cooking it:

  • The Miele steam ovens are entirely automatic and have thus become indispensable kitchen assistants. Easy to program, they can memorise recipes or even recommend a temperature depending on the type of food you are preparing.
  • With the help of a water reservoir with an integrated steam generator, an ultra-precise electronic temperature regulation of 40 to 100°C is possible, thus insuring optimal cooking results. Any oxidation or dryness of foods actually becomes impossible.
  • Their talents of answering various daily needs are well developed : quick defrosting of a piece of meat without cooking it, reheating without drying, sterilisation of feeding bottles, preparation of delicious home-made yogurts, blanching vegetables before freezing them... You’re the cook!


On the design front, the harmony of the entire 5000 appliance range has been well respected. To this effect, the offered headpieces, handles, and colours (timeless black, anti-fingerprint stainless steel, or the new very high-tech titanium) play the role of recurring elements. Since modularity obligates it, the range also answers to the various built-in constraints by proposing different heights: 35, 38 (for high pressure ovens), and 45 cm.

To add to the fun, the manufacturer gives us easy maintenance products: stainless steel confines, flat bottom, water reduction and condensation systems at the end of the cooking and automatic limescale removal function (depending on the model). These products are equipped with a PerfectClean surface which is patented by Miele, so there is no way for grease to stick to the walls and thus, a sponge scrub should be enough to clean everything.  In short, Miele is ingenuity to the service of absolute comfort!

Other than the few steam oven models proposed by the manufacturer that all offer a few distinct characteristics, Miele also presents their latest from an old lineage, a combined steam oven. Associating steam cooking and turning heat, this oven promises to know how to do everything and offer professional results in your own house:

  • Precision adept, it is the first household appliance to measure and correct the humidity rate inside the confines permanently thanks to its integrated HydraCook humidity captor.
    Flexible, it programs up to 6 cooking phases.
  • For more simplicity, it also offers 140 automatic programs.
  • For more safety, it is equipped with a tempered door, children safety and neglect safety.
  • It is delivered with lateral halogen lighting and a tactile control panel of the Navitonic TouchControl headpiece type.
  • Finally, the state-of-the-art automatic menu cooking program offers time and energy savings. It manages the menu from A to Z, indicating exactly in which order and at what time to put the food in the oven and also warns you when the meal is ready.
