The refrigerator part has a full width shelf and two tempered glass half-shelves, solidity security that can be adjusted depending on your needs. The refrigerator’s internal door can have up to five adjustable door racks for containers for volumes of up to 4 litres and storing for dairy products. All these pieces, including the drawers, are all made of quality plastic that offers a good sliding and that insures their durability. Finally, the lighting is assured by two 60 watt light bulbs.
As for the freezer part, it is made up of a full width shelf and drawer in metallic wire grill. The idea of the drawer is very interesting concerning the storing and the accessibility to frozen foods. However, a full plastic shelf would have been much more practical than the metallic wire grill shelf for food storing and cleaning. The lighting in the freezer is assured by a 40 watt light bulb.
Apart from the organisation of its space and of the food storing, this appliance of great quality has also many characteristics that are unique to LG.
Firstly, an open door alarm. Indeed, the refrigerator produces a sound every 30 seconds when the door stays open for more than a minute, thus avoiding the loss of energy. Then, the Design-A-Door system is a principle that enables door racks to slide from one side of the door to the other in order to instantly modulate the space depending on the articles to store. Moreover, this appliance has a cooling system of a multiple air flow with numerous aeration traps that assure equal quantities of cool air to reach each shelf.
Finally, this LG refrigerator offers other advantages, notably a silent functioning, two vegetable containers with a controlled humidity, a quick freezing function enabling the quick freeze of fresh foods and ice cubes, as well as two numerical temperature commands that insure an energy economy and an optimal temperature in every region of the refrigerator. This LG refrigerator is also very interesting from a design point of view. The quality of the materials used confers to this appliance a luxurious and noble aspect. The top surface is entirely covered in stainless steel and the lateral surfaces and the back are covered of a metallic covering. The two handles, from the freezer and the refrigerator, entirely made of full stainless steel are solid, ergonomical and emphasised by the simple design of the rest of the appliance. However, while remaining modern and purified, the curves on the edges of the doors and on the handles soften the general look of the refrigerator. Small negative aspects: the pale blue writings and symbols graved on the refrigerator’s door racks are a little old-fashioned and as it is the case for many stainless steel appliances, the surface is easily marked by fingerprints.
Nevertheless, with a price that fluctuates between $1100 and $1300, this refrigerator represents a very good ratio between the great quality of the materials and of the finish, the design, the functionality, and the relatively affordable price of this appliance.
